What To Do If You Had Unprotected Sex

If you recently had unprotected sex —  which can happen to the best of us —  you should get tested as you may have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection or disease (STI/STD). Every STI/STD has a different incubation period. Talk with our staff to ensure you’re getting tested at the best time.

1. Get Tested

Timely detection of HIV is important to effective treatment of HIV should you contract the disease. a.l.p.h.a. provides non-fee based testing for HIV and other potential STI’s.

2. Schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider.

If you are tested positive for HIV, a.l.p.h.a. can provide counseling on potential options. This may include Post-Exposure prophylaxis (an antiretroviral medication), which if taken early enough may be able to prevent HIV from taking hold.

Appointments

We are a non-fee based testing center but donations are welcome and encouraged. We suggest a $20.00 donation. Insurances are now accepted at a.l.p.h.a. and there are no copays.
